This tag displays static (non-scrolling) user text and a camera image. It can be used to return a scanned QR code from a camera-equipped device to the POS. If the device does not support a camera, API 0011 in the response will return an error message.

Static text and camera image are placed in two vertically arranged screen areas with configurable heights (0 = do not display). These areas are, from top to bottom:

Static text area – IDENTICAL TO 011 – The vertical extent of this area is defined (as a percentage of screen height) by a request field (0 = no text area). Other request fields define the font size and justification of the static text. The maximum number of characters per line depends on the font size and device. The maximum number of lines of static text depends on the height of the area, the font size, and the device. 

Camera area – The vertical extent of this area is whatever is left over from the defined text area. The horizontal location of the camera viewer (capture area) can be defined by the request as Device default, LEFT half of Camera area, RIGHT half of Camera area, or FULL camera area. (Default is RIGHT for Lane xxxx; otherwise FULL.) 

Request fields (AllowEnter, AllowCancel) control whether the hard Enter and Cancel keys can be used. If enabled, these keys can be used to cancel the request (no captured data in response).

**Note:** A timeout value can be defined in API 0011. API 5001 is not present in the response for a timeout or a bad scan. The POS can cancel the request by sending a Cancel (“80”) message (same as all Informational Prompt messages).
